The first title in 2 parts, with separate engraved title pages, 22 engraved plates; second title with engraved title page by Gaywood, and 11 engraved plates of birds, as well as 10 engraved plates of insects from another work. Rebacked 18th century gilt-ruled calf, spine gilt-ruled with 5 raised bands, titled in gilt. Joints cracking, edges and corners rubbed, scattered foxing and spotting, one insect plate with repaired tear into center of image.

Contains sixteen plates engraved by Wenceslas Hollar after drawings by Barlow. Francis Barlow was a prolific illustrator and artist, particularly known for his scenes of nature and hunting.
